Has anyone heard of this kids modeling agency on valley st? Susan Barr apparently runs it but I couldn't find a contact phone number. She has ads on craigslist.

Thanks

The thing to remember is that a legitimate modeling agency will NEVER ask you for $. Not for various fees or for a a photo protolio. They will pay to have the protfolio done. They make their $ by selling your child's image. I looked into kid's modeling agencies when my daughter was born. I decided in the end that it wasn't worth the time and effort - going into the city with only 48 hours notice and waiting and waiting. I also read an article in a parent's mag that very rarely do you make any money in this.

Joy, not to disagree with you, but there are plenty of ways for kids to make money. But you are right about the committment. It is huge. Commercial auditions and, even worse, "go sees" come with very little notice and will require your going into the city for literally 30 seconds to 5 minutes of actual "face time". That being said, Mplwdladee, if you are interested in this I have a copy of the May/June Ross reports which is a publication that lists all the legitimate agencies in NYC and NJ and CA. They also breakdown whether they take kids or not. And for young kids, all you need is a good family photo since they are changing so fast now anyway. If you want to talk further about this I would be happy to and I can even lend you the Ross Reports if you want to take a look.

PL me if interested and I will give you my phone number and we can chat. My son has done some work (he is in all three of the films I directed and has appeared in a national magazine...Family Circle) and he has turned down some work. It is hard but if the child is one of those kids who lights up a room then there is nothing to be lost if you have the time. Cause in the end it is all about the time.

So let me know.

Thanks for all the information. I am familiar with the process, the do's and don'ts. My son got a magazine gig when he was a baby. The go sees are very time consuming and not worth the money to drive, park and return to jersey from the city.
However, I was specifically asking about this local agency and the woman who runs it.

I've worked with a kids agency in NY (Product Management) with my son but wanted to find out more about Faces of Tomorrow which is in South Orange.

I appreciate your time. Thanks again
