And to add to the above - what sorts of things are accepted? Toys, yes? Will the sale accept clothing? Kitchen stuff?

They're not accepting today (Friday) b/c the two HUGE tents are being delivered this afternoon. I think the organizers felt that tents and stuff were just too much to handle for one day.

I volunteer there. I have been dropping off for about a week and you can drop off anytime once the tents are up. You can drop off anything that's not food or pets (and people have tried with hamsters more than once...).

ess,-toys, clothing, furniture, housewares, linens, attic treasures, sporting goods, electrical appliances and goods that work, lamps, jewelry good and not so good-
The best thing that you can do for the sale is donate things that can be sold and not garbage and to please make sure that what you are donating is clean.
The church office will provide you with tax receipts if you need them.

OK - dumb question: I cleaned out a closet. Everything not worn in 3-4 years is going. It was all dry cleaned before it was put away, as I had intended to wear it the next season.

I did something that I should not have done: I left it on the bed for a day. The cat was very happy about that. So, now I have these dark wool suits which are clean but covered (in some places) with cat hair.

I want to do the right thing, but I am not going to pay to have them dry cleaned again. What do I do with them? If the cat is clean and the clothes are clean, could the cat-covered clothes be considered clean?

Do you have access to one of those roly things that removes cat hair etc? Failing that, how about rolling sticky tape around your hand and removing the hair that way? I suppose it all depends on how much hair there is...

Good point. Or, I could jusst lay the clothes out differently so that she covers the rest of them and maybe people will think it's white mohair?

I'll be rolling a long time, but I suppose that's the answer.

When are the drop-off hours at Morrow?

Thanks for the info, BGS.

I have lots of kids' clothing and toys all in good condition.

I should pay them to take it from me -- I am so grateful to be able to donate!!

I just dropped off now. It's kinda do-it-yourself, as most of the helpers were unloading a truck and generally setting up racks, etc. Many others were dropping off.

when is the sale? I used to love it when they allowed you to stuff all you wanted into a bag for a low price. It was such a challenge to squeeze the most stuff into the bag!!!!

The sale starts on Thursday morning, July 6th and goes for the next three Thursday mornings...3 Tuesday nights starting July 11th....
The last day of the sale(July 27th) is the day that they used to let you stuff children's clothing in a bag for a set price...do not know if that is still the way they do things in that department since I have not had the need to be in that department for about 20 years.

Last I knew (maybe around 1999) the children's department priced almost everything by the bag, then the price per bag decreases as the sale goes on. A few very special items were individually priced.
