How do you get rid of them or get them to move on? |

There is a battery powered mole chaser--for want of a better term--that you can buy. You stick one end of it into the ground where it emits a chattering sound that scares moles, gophers and rabbits away. Four D cells last the whole summer. I got mine from the Vermont Country Store on line. I've had it for a few years now, and I guess it works. At least, I haven't seen any moles or gophers. |

A lot of people use Dr. Liftin for mole removal. Alternatively, if it is moles in your yard, they are probably there because you have a grub infestation. Start applying milky spore to your yard to reduce the grub population. There are toxic chemical grub treatments as well, but milky spore is a bit more environmentally friendly. After a couple years of application, the milky spore fungus should be self-sustaining in your soil. |

Are you sure they are moles? I thought that was what we had, wound up to be (ew) rats. We use Jerry Buckingham Exterminators. When he came to do the termite stuff I showed him the holes and he said they were definitely (ew) rats. He is great and highly recommended by MOLers. Before you spend money on a treatment, I would suggest having an exterminator over for a professional opinion. We have had skunks, possum, racoons, etc. living on our property at different times. We even found a ferret which has become our newest pet. (We thought she was a rat the first few times we spotted her, glad we didn't get her with the rat poison) |

Most raised moles are harmless. But if they are asymmetrical, multicolored, or change in color or shape, you had better see a dermatologist. The ones in your yard are harmless too. |

"The ones in your yard are harmless too." Unless THEY are asymmetrical, multicolored, or change in color or shape. Then you should see Mem. She can talk you down. J.B. |
