Here's my problem.

My son downloads his music from our computer at home. His music library is also on this computer. With the exception of downloading music (which my company does not allow)I have my music library here at work and I usually copy songs from my Cd's there.

When I try to download music from the itunes store at home, the music copy's to my son's music library. This while using my own prepaid itunes card.

Is there a way of downloading music from the store to MY ipod nano without automatically going to my son's ipod?

HELP!!!

Manually manage your music on your iPod. Attach your iPod to the machine, Click on the OPTIONS button for your iPod (one way to access these options can be found in the bottom right corner of your Itunes window). Choose Manually Manage music on this ipod.

Now you need to drag songs into your ipod (it no longer autosynchs music for you), which I personally prefer.

Phenix,

I'm not clear on what you're trying to do. Do you not want your son to see your music at all? That is, do you want to maintain separate iTunes libraries? Or do you simply not want his music on your iPod and vice versa?

The solution to the latter is simple: create a playlist for your iPod (and he for his), and set your iPod prefs (via iTunes) so that only that playlist gets downloaded to the iPod. We manage more than one iPod at home this way.

Thank-You so much AlleyGater and Eponymous!

AlleyGater

I will follow your directions and see what happens.

Eponymous

What I orginally try to do was download music from the itune store to my ipod but it copy into my son's ipod. I usually copy my cd's at work to my ipod. I do have itunes install on my computer. At work we are blocked from downloading songs, so I try to do this at home which did not work for me. I will follow your advice also. Spouse will be getting an ipod also, so there's no other choice but to use the same computer at home.

Phenix,

There is software that will transfer tunes from iPod to computer. You could use this to get the tunes you rip at work onto your home computer via your iPod. Apple doesn't like it (or says they don't), of course, but they are your tunes.
