Well, hopefully. Try it out. For sometime, we've had issues with Verizon customers not getting emails from the message board script - whether it be private lines or registration requests. I tweaked the script - and I believe the issue is fixed at the moment. |

Would you care to share the technical details?

sure - it's pretty simple. First I made sure we were cleared on the white list - there's a form to fill out for that. http://www2.verizon.net/micro/whitelist/ Second, the email "From" address from the message board is do-not-reply@southorangevillage.com (though some do reply) - The return path's default is anonymous@southorangevillage.com. I don't think verizon liked the "anonymous" part. You can define the return path by adding -fdo-not-reply@southorangevillage.com to the beginning of the mail command line. The "-f" is crucial. But that's how it presently works - who knows what Verizon will implement to it's spam protection system next week. Overall, I hear that AOL and Verizon are the worst. Yahoo, Hotmail and MSN are recommended over those 2(in regards to good mail getting blocked by spam filters). It seems like with Verizon - you'd never know what messages have been blocked. |

Yeah, I found last week that I can't send email privately to anyone at AOL because they tagged me or my email provider (pobox.com) as spammers. I filled out the form to claim I'm not a spammer. The form is for people or domains who send large amounts of mail, which I certainly do not do. After a few days, they approved it. But I had to provide IP addresses from which I will send mail. So I provided my home (which is not all that permanent) and work addresses. I may not be able to send mail to AOL from anywhere else. This is very wrong. gmail seems to have the best spam filters around. Congratulations on figuring out the problem!
