The Contest
Independence of O.S. choice is the main aim of this contest. The host OS is the stable, accessible and secure Mac OS X on Intel. Guest OS's are a broad choice of systems from Windows to Linux. The result is an increased in inter-working and performances to go.

Indeed, why being satisfied running Windows on a Mac, when Windows and Mac OS X can cohabit together? The slight loss of performance being balanced by an operational momentum.

Today using Aperture, Keynote or iMovie at the same time as Autocad or TM1 is technically possible as long as the become of certain editors is mapped to the future of Redmond. A virtualization application is a solution.

The person who will develop this application before June 17 will win the lolly. And you, generous donator, open (or deepen) your Mac wisdom without losing your reason. Donate! Thank you for him or the UNICEF (cf. the rules).

...
The Rules

1.
1.The application must boot either Windows XP or Windows 2000 in Mac OS X on any intel Mac without emulating the processor. This contest does not cover any other Operating System (e.g. Linux) even if they can run.
2.
2.The first person to email complete Mac OS X application and instructions to runxp@mac.com will be the winner if all rules are proven true. The application will be peer reviewed once it is received and guaranteed working.
3.
3.Windows must run at nearly native speed. It means that when converting in iTunes the Johann Sebastian Bach Partita for Violin No. 2 in D minor - BWV 1004 - V Chaconne played by Nathan Milstein (Deutsche Grammophon) from Apple Lossless format to AAC 128 kbps, an encoding time difference of maximum 30% should be noticed between iTunes running on the windows which runs in the virtualization application on Mac OS X for intel vs. either iTunes running directly on Mac OS 10.4.x or iTunes running on the same version of windows but booted in dual mode (if available at that time).
4.
4.Must be supported by windows running in the virtualization software: at least one USB port, one CDROM, one TCP/IP network adapter, 1GB of RAM dedicated to windows and a screen resolution of 1024 x 768.
5.
5.Only a free software under GPL or equivalent will be taken into account. It must be fully available and fully downloadable on the net.
6.
6.You give this website the rights to post your application and its source.
7.
7.The lolly will be transferred via paypal. If it is determined impossible to develop an application to boot Windows on Mac OS X for intel by June 17, 2006, the lolly will be donated to the United Nations Children's Fund (visit unicef.org).

they only have around $400.00 in prize money so far.
