Anyone know why some animated graphics display ok, i.e. animated, with Firefox but not with Safari ? This happens with Monster's latest rendition. Oddly, the swirl of the Reverend McCheese is OK on both ??!!

Do you have some kind of filtering software installed, like PithHelmet? Most can do some kind of limiting of animations. I have mine set to animate twice.

Many people hate animated graphics.

It's probably my fault, though it works fine on Safari for me, even if I limit animations with PithHelmet, http://www.culater.net/software/PithHelmet/PithHelmet.php

Do you have an links to some other animated gifs that cause a problem?

No, no filtering software. Safari and FFox are "out of the box", i.e. I haven't applied any 3rd party extensions. Bloo works fine on both !

Being relatively new to the world of the big Apple, I'm more curious as to whether there are known issues with certain "standard" software.

PS versions I'm using - FireFox V 1.5.0.1, Safari V 2.0.3 (417.8)

It's a known bug (or as I call it, "feature") in Safari that animated JPEG images won't animate. They work for me in Firefox on Mac.

Dave,

I think that's been fixed. I use PithHelmet to stop the (annoying) animations, but this page shows up just fine for me with the latest version anyway:

Wait, I see now that you wrote "animated jpeg", not "gif." Monster's works fine for me.
