My *^%@# all-in-one printer (hp officejet d135)keeps telling me that the color cartridge is empty - I've replaced it twice with new ones, cleaned the print heads as directed by the manual, unplugged, evrything I can think & still the same message...
it's about 2.5 yrs old & getting creaky - is this terminal? Any suggestions?

Thanks

I used to have a similar problem with some Epson printers. I had to take the print heads off and soak them for a bit. You can search for instructions on how to do that. Also, are you using a power strip to turn the printer on and off, by any chance? The printer needs to go through the shutdown process, which parks the printheads so that they won't dry up. Just a thought.

thanks camnol & all - I didn't soak them, but did go through complete shutdown (not using power strip, but did unplug) & tried suggestions from above sites - helped me to decide there really was a problem (tried all the overrides etc.) & have already hooked up the new all-in-one...nice to have a scanner that works properly now too.
Am trying to sell my unopened printer cartridges (in case anyone is interested HP #14)...that's where these machines kill you!

Stick them on eBay and they'll get gobbled up.

Sell the old all-in-one on eBay as a parts machine while you're at it.
