Don't dis the Leader
when the Leader speaks, Macfanatics listen....

without even going to the links above yet I have this to say, the two biggest rumours, speculations, fanboy wishes are for a new fullscreen/touchscreen video iPod (watch your favorite movie in full widescreen iPod view), and of course once again, the tablet Mac, following close behind these two is the new PDA from Apple.
Apple does have a few patents out there that could lend themselves well to any of the three I mentioned.
Considering the iPod is what is fueling Apple at the moment, I think it could very well be a new iPod to be announced on the 28th.
Then there is the possibility of the tablet Mac, I don't think it will be this soon, but they may just come out with one, as a I mentioned before there are a few patents that Apple has & has appplied for recently (they do all these patent applications overseas because it generally takes longer for people to find out about them) that go well with a new tablet Mac, like the patent that came to light recently for a new type of swivel screen for a laptop (if I remember correctly), they also have been doing a lot of work recently with their handwriting recognition software, which you can currently still use via inkwell in OS X.
Inkwell is built on the same handwriting tech that was used on Apples Newton (the original PDA), which to this day works better than any other handwriting technology out there.
Apple has been searching recently for handwriting technology coding experts, now nless they are planning on doing something with this, why?
A new Newton, or iPad as I like to call it, or a new Apple tablet Mac, which could be called an iPad too come to think of it.

Now what I wish for, would be a new Apple DVR that uses ReplayTV based software and GUI interface (it's so well thought out) but I'm not holding my breath.
A new Apple DVR, the iRecord, would be great, slap the OS and Front Row on there, perhaps Front Row will be updated with a new app to control the DVR capabilities. A few extra ports on the new box for plugging in all of your cameras, DVD/VCR's, your TV's, etc., card reader capabilities, a dock on top for your iPod, or new Apple PDA, blah-blah-blah...
This would probably be a rectangular version of the Mini, though it could end up being a small Apple cube, big enough for 1 ot 2 HD's,this would be controlled by a remote or through your Mac, even over the net, maybe even through your bluetooth phone.
Now an Apple DVR is what I really want, [insert wishful thinking here....]....[/wishful thiniking]

Now lets go visit the links and see what they have to say.........

....

MacDailyNews, a box, a box that looks fake, but the discussion on it ranges from a new phone to a dvr, to fake-fake-fake

now lets go to thinksecret...

...

new iPod, single core Intel chip in a new Mini or iBook, now that's a possibility, the usual suspects....

By the way, there have now been over 1 billion songs downloaded from iTunes.

monster - yeah, i agree with you, the box looks completely fake (even the logo on top looks like a bad photoshop job).
I don't think you're wish is that far to come true though...

it seems there are a lot of chances for it to be a new ipod - but then again, i wouldn't think that to be worth of such big suspense, is it? i kind of had my money for new ibook...

rastro, the billionth download went to alex ostrovsky - i memorized the name because i worked with a guy before with this name and was wondering if was him.
