Every time my son tries to use his PS2, he gets a disk read error message. Anyone know what this means and whether it can be fixed? Thanks. |

Call sony, tell them you're getting that error message (& that message alone). There's a few select model and serial numered unit that they'll replace no questions asked, you'll just have to ship it out to them. It was mostly for older consoles but you could give it a shot. Here's a link on that: http://forums.gameinformer.com/gi/board/message?board.id=sony&message.id=20968 If you want to tackle it yourself, it's not that hard here's a couple links: http://arstechnica.com/articles/paedia/hardware/ps2.ars http://www.i-hacked.com/content/view/79/62/ I hope it's not one of those new "slim" ones? What a mistake sony made with those |

I used it about 8 months ago, no issues after that. Mine always had the problem when I put the disk in though, never while I was playing a game. |
