I am trying to download updates for Spybot and I keep getting a check sum error. Is there something I can do to get around this short of uninstalling the program and downloading a new copy which contains the latest files?

Are you doing the update through Spybot, they have the updates available as a separate download on the site, http://www.safer-networking.org/en/download/index.html
the latest definition updates were on the third.

You may want to try selecting one update at a time. Tedious, but it may help you.

You need to try a different server when that happens. Sometimes some of the mirror sites seem to get corrupted files. I usually cycle through the server list and soon enough find one that's ok.

There's not much you can do about it, if the file is corrupted on the server, at least the program verifies it before wiping out your old one!

Thanks.

I'll try downloading from a different site.

Download of updates from Spybot is working now. I guess they resolved the problem.

Thanks all.
