I receive my email (via Comcast cable internet) on my iMac desktop in the basement. Can I get to my email from my laptop elsewhere in the house? I have wireless. |

Tell your imac to leave the mail on the server. It's in the settings of your mail program.

You could also just get used to checking your mail through the web browser on the website of your email provider (probably comcast.net). When you use oulook express, it downloads your mail to the local computer you are using. You are in effect decentralizing it by removing it from the server. When you use the web browser you are accessing the server (central location) directly. |

what Tom said, I leave my mail on COmcast's servers for a set amount of days, I have each Mac's Mail program set to leave the mail on the server after download, this way each computer can have a copy of the same email easily, and no need for webmail. Variations, the laptop Monster daughter uses only downloads from her mailbox, and her mothers, other computers download from distinct mailboxes, and a couple download from every mailbox. copies copies everywhere. |
