I am being given a blackberry for work and they are providing two options. I have NIL experiance with these things so I was hoping for some pros or cons.

7105t
7290

Thanks,

I have the 7290 and I haven't worked with the 7105t, but here's a side-by-side comparison on the Blackberry site.
http://www.blackberry.com/compare/compare.do?handhelds=241&handhelds=101&method= getFeatureView&x=67&y=15

Looks like the 7105t is a little sleeker in design and may be better if you're planning on using it as a phone (without a headset). If you're going to use the phone, note that the 7105t only has t-mobile available while the other has availability on several networks - I would guess your company would only give you the option for one though if that's who they have a contract with.

The other major difference I see is with the keyboard. The 7290 has the QWERTY keyboard (like your PC keyboard) and the 7105t uses a combined cell phone/QWERTY keyboard. I know some people have a hard time moving from the plain QWERTY to the combined one, but if you're starting out for the first time, you'll probably get used to it more easily.

I think I'd vote for the 7105t - looks like it has the same features generally but it's a sleeker design...

My friend has the 7105t and loves it. Yes it takes a while to get used to the odd text entry, but he says that more often than not it's quicker and you get used to it. Can't speak for the 7290, but that's the model most people have so, I take it it's a good enough. It's bigger though.

I also have the 7290 and like it well enough. I've never used a 7105t either, but from comments I guess they're okay as well. Welcome to crackberryland!

I've had a 7100 for over a year, I love how sleek it is and the screen has good resolution, but it has lousy reception and it is terrible for typing out messages. For sending, I would much prefer a QWERTY keyboard.
