I just gave my wife an ipod nano and I've already burned all of our CDs into my laptop. Should she register with my laptop or her own? Can she get all of the stuff on my computer into hers or should we have one "music computer?"

Will Apple freak if we try to have two laptops and my ipod and her nano sharing music?

J.B.

No I didn't search this. You all know the search function sucks.

As long as you MANUALLY MANAGE your songs on both devices you should be fine. If you guys want to use the AUTO update songs functionality you might need to read up a bit however.

TS and I use one computer and just manually drag over whatever songs we want to our ipods and it totally works with no complaints.

I use one music computer and sync the second with that one just for backup, so I don't have to re-rip if my hard drive goes south.

(Actually I do a bit more and sync the entire iTunes folder so that I can sync the iPod on either computer, but that's just a bonus feature, and I never rip onto the second computer.)

Manual sync, doesn't really matter how many computers you have.
I have my iTunes Music Library on a separate external hard drive that holds only music and other audio, as long as the computer it's hooked up to is on I can mount and use it from my other computers, or I can periodically back it up to another external hard drive connected to another computer in the house.
