The screen on my laptop no longer gets brighter when plugged into the AC adapter. What's wrong? How to fix it?

Everything in power options seems ok, and actually in the last hour the screen seems to be getting dimmer and dimmer.

I would say the same thing as Glock.

Silly question - since it's getting dimmer and dimmer...Are you sure that outlet is working?

Problem solved - I actually looked at the online manual. The function F7 and F8 keys control the brightness of the screen. Guess it helps to read the manuals!!!

Is it a powerbook? Because they respond to ambient light and adjust the screen accordingly. You can shut that off in the display options.
