Okay, I have three computers and one router. The two wireless computers can "see" the Internet but now I want to share files from the main PC with the others. Simple, right? Would someone mind running through it for me? If it's a 50 step process I'll call a help desk. Thanks in advance.

If I sort through this I should be able to do it.

I have found mounting drives across my wireless home network works fine if I use IP address instead of machine name on my home network, assuming sharing is enabled on the drive you want to map.

In my experience, "should" is the operative word in the above.

I agree with SOSully. I'll go one step further. Make sure that the same user accounts/passwords exist on all the PC's. Also be sure to enable encryption on the router. By default, when you "share" it gives access to "Everyone" on your network. If you enable encryption, hopefully, you'll prevent an outsider from hopping on to your wireless network and browsing your shared files.

No need to overcomplicate things, this is a simple thing to do. The hardest part is getting your computers to be in the same workgroup, and that might alredy be the case.

First, check your workgroup, Right click on My Computer and choose properties. Check for a tab called Computer Name (Windows XP). Check the field Workgroup and see the value. Make sure your other computers have the same value.

On one computer, choose a folder that you want to "share" with other PCs. Right click on the folder and click "Sharing". Click to Share and choose a name to share as. From other computers you can then click on Network Neighborhood to see computers near you and the shares. This is similar to setting up a shared printer.

Security should be investigated definitely, especially if you are on a wireless network.
