A beta of a Microsoft product doesn't sound very appetizing!

Is there any other kind of Microsoft release?

For similar outcome of trying a MS beta product, I recommend throwing your computer down a long flight of cement steps.

LOL...

I really wonder about Vista. I surveyed my mates a while back about Vista and the responses ranged from Not-interested to downright antagonistic.

I think if MS wants to save themselves they better count on having whatever new DirectX version run only on Vista - and some good games (for the home crowd)

They also better throw something in that is a REAL benefit to the enterprise crowd now that WinFS has morphed into I'm not sure what.
