1: is there any hope of getting files off the hard drive that died? I lagged and failed to transfer the files. I still have the HD, along with the 3 gigs of pictures...

2: Why does the monitor screen now seem to throb (for want of a better word) ever so slightly? Like when you see computer screens on video, only a tiny bit more subtle. And, when I scroll down, the movement registers as jerky on the screen.

2: Check your refresh rate for the monitor.

1: As long as it spins up there is a chance to recover files, I stayed up until 6:30 in the morning Sunday/Monday recovering erroneously deleted mail data for a client that was going to Mexico early Monday morning. I recovered over 2,500 mail mboxes (this was on a Mac).

1a: Even if the drive doesn't spin up it's still possible.

Thanks, Monster. It doesn't give me any options for the screen refresh except--only the default appears.
