I reinstalled Roxio on my my new hard drive, but when the program comes up, I can't push any buttons. I can't even close it by pushing the little x button. Are there other (hopefully free) programs that format cd's for you (yes I have a PC). I want to burn some tunes, man.

just curious, but do you have iTunes?
That does a pretty nice job of burning audio cds.

just make a playlist of the songs you want to burn, and hit burn up at the top right.

If you don't have it, it's free.

www.itunes.com

And yes, it works with pc's.

true dat, but Roxio should be working right, did you un-install Roxio first, then re-install, if so, did you restart the computer before re-installing?

Bailey,
I do have itunes, but nothing will happen with any blank cd until it is formatted.

I'll try to uninstall/reinstall with restart.

I've never had to "format" a cd to burn to it, it should just ask you to insert a blank cd when you're ready to burn.

Have you always had to do that? Doesn't sound right, unless maybe it's a CD/RW?

You should only use CDR's for audio cd's I think.
