madhat,

Perhaps this will help. I get Kernel32 errors every now and then as well:

Click here (Symantec Antivirus Research Center) for more information on the Happy99 worm, one of the likely causes of your problem, and what to do about it. (If you run antivirus software and keep it up to date you won't have to worry about this sort of thing.)

Thanks for advice, happy worm wasn't found in computer. Don't know if I'm happy it wasn't. Could have been problem, tried invalid page fault fix and illegal operation fix from microsofts support site. checked dbx files bought Norton System Works even though its mainly for windows problems and not IE and OE. Working around PLW files don't want to mess with passwords yet. Every thing I mentioned I got advice about what and how to do. Not Computer Smart but cross between stupid and illiterate. but thanks jamie and lseltzer for replying and advice.
