Hi, Some time ago when I wanted to participate in the real name area I changed my username...but now I don't really want my entire name to appear every time I post. It appears that very few folks post using their actual names and that makes me feel a bit exposed. How do I alter my username? I've been to the Edit Profile area but don't seem to see how to do it. What am I missing? Thanks! Michele (duh) |

Michele: You can edit the name which appears in the larger blue letters next to your name but you can't change the username which appears in smaller black letters under the word "citizen" without a little help from our moderator. The blue letter name is the name you choose to have others address you by. The black letter name is the name your account on MOL was born with. You can try sending Dave an e-mail requesting a change of name but the easiest way to change the name under which you post is to request a separate MOL account under the pseudonym you select. Just follow the same procedure you used in setting up your current account. |

The best way to handle it is to go to "edit profile", log in, delete your account (bottom of that page), and sign on for a new user name. There is no way to edit a username once it's created or to transfer profiles/post counts to another name. Hope that helps. |
