Recently, my computers (both PCs) have been unable to connect to the internet on a regular basis. If I first, restart both computers (which are connected to the same modem and router), sometimes I can get a connection. However, every couple of days, I have to unplug the modem, router and Vonage thing...let it sit for a while and then restart the computers. Is this a sign that I need a new modem? Anything else it could be? It seems so sudden. Any thoughts? All suggestions are appreciated! |

Cable or DSL? I had a similar problem a while ago, when Camcast switched to a newer and faster cable modem standard. Had to upgrade my modem as it wasn't fully compatible with the faster standard anymore. Call your ISP and have them check your modem, they can usually do this remotely. |

It is cable. I will definitely try that. I would LOVE it if it weren't another expense. PHEW |

I was having some broadband cable issues -- the tech guy (on the phone) asked me for which modem -- he cut me short and said "the shark fin -- those are ancient". Anyway, took it in and exchanged it -- broadband service MUCH better than before, wish I had done it a long time ago! Pete |
