So here's the deal: I'd like to identify songs for which I've recently changed the "My Rating" value. I deduce there must be a timestamp associated with this, because when you sync up (automatic sync) the values are transferred both ways wherever you change it. I guess it's possible maybe it is just a bit that gets flipped to indicate the rating has been modified, not a full time stamp. One thing I know for sure is that timestamp does NOT appear to be the "Date Modified" field. Since "My Rating" is metadata with a pointer to the music file, rather than a setting within the file itself, the "Date Modified" stamp does not get updated by simply changing the rating of the song. So any braniacs out there know if and where Apple has decided to keep this little bit of info and how to wring it out of iTunes? If not, any other suggestions for finding songs with recently changed ratings?

I googled "itunes database format" and the first link is http://homepage.ntlworld.com/simon.mason20/ipod_tunes_spec.htm I think you'll have to write a program to read the database.

well, the metadata should be located in the xml file in the iTunes library folder, you may be able to customize searches using the SQLplaylist server here, http://erland.homeip.net/download/do/viewapplication?name=slimserver-sqlplaylist |
