Hi George, Did you take these with a digital camera or scan them? If digital, what kind of camera and would you recommend it? I'm looking for an easy to use, decent resolution digital under $300. Anyone have any recommendations? Jim |

I used a Camera and I'm playing with it to learn what I can do with it and the MOL limit of 165 kb per photo. I've been looking for a while and have a friend who buys a new $1,000 plus unit each year. Me, I wanted to start real slow. I did get a < $100 unit last year but sent it right back as it was trash. Thanx AOL. This year I did buy a lower end camera. A FujiFilm FinePix 2600 Zoom, 2.0 mega Pixel camera at Target on Rt. 22 for just a hair over $300. I have since purchased additional Smart Memory cards (Film) and several sets of re-chargeable batteries (it eats batteries). I love it and if you want in the game with a fair quality unit at that price point, I would recommend it. I heard from my friend that this model did get some good reviews, and the only Neg. was that the package does not include a photo editor software set. I did not bother to ask where the review was as I am no longer shopping. Enjoy, George |

Thanks very much George! Your camera sounds like exactly what I'm looking for. I'm also looking at the Kodak DX3600 EasyShare - very similar specs. Jim P.S. I've noticed how active you've become on The Wall. I think you need to set up a Mr. FixIt website or something! How to make money on it though? |

Go back to The Wall. I just posted my first Marketing idea. We will see. |

Not bad - 2 bucks a pop. How many steam boilers are out there? How 'bout making them fluorescent so if the gauge glass does get dirty you could shine a light on 'em and make 'em glow.. |

Good idea. That ought to add another $.25 to each. How many do you want? |

Is that vent photo from your basement? If so, did you drill and tap in that nipple for the vent or was it done already? My vent is at a tee at the end of the main and I really need to move it back and up. |

Let's see the near boiler piping and header. |

Gosh, blushing, I did not think anyone was looking in my test area, but you just keep popping up! Look on the back of the 90 that turns down. That plug you see is where a 3/8 tapping held my old main vent, which just could not handle the volume, and due to the loctation, draining water kept getting sucked up into it. So I plugged it, drilled a hole, enlarged it and tapped 3/4 threads and mounted the vent you see. This works fast, is quite as a whisper and does the job. Now stop looking. |

Is that a dreaded copper fitting coming out of the boiler tapping? As I posted earlier, I need to redo my near boiler piping and am torn between copper and black iron - already bought the copper but all of the Wall posts have me guilted into using iron so I'm thinking of returning the copper. I just need to figure out how to get 2 1/2" iron pipe threaded. The rental centers only carry threaders up to 2". Do you know if Palmer threads pipe that big? |

Sorry - I guess I'm a boiler voyeur. Anyway, I do see the plug. Great work. I'll probably need a right angle drill to do mine. How did you "enlarge" the hole you drilled? |

How did you "enlarge" the hole you drilled? I used a reamer bit. It has steps that start at 1/4" and as you cut each step the next one is larger. I took a lot of oil and a long time. Yes you see copper, out the tapping and it goes up to a 3" iron header, then a 2.5" main. It came that way and I watch it a lot. Still holding and doing well. I too feel guilty about it. Yes I know, Palmer does not cut threads on pipe that large. However, take in a good design picture, measure your needs and they will order the pipes cut and threaded for your needs. Turn around, about 1 week. For something I did, I needed 46" end to end, with a union in the middle. When I got it, it had the unions on the pipe and it was exactly 46" end to end. On one other pipe I was a tad long in the measurement I gave them, however, the threads were back enough that I was able to cut the end off a bit, file the burr, and I was in business. |

That's what those are for! I've seen those reamer bits and never realized how they worked. Your word-picture worked great - Thanks! Thanks for the tip on Palmer - I just might give them a try and do it the right way. Jim |

well this has nothing to do with testing pictures, but as far as Hustler goes, I've hung out with Larry Flynt's nephew, Dusty. Very nice guy, looks just like Woody Harrelson. |
