When I check for new messages it says I haven't checked for them since last night (and therefore comes up with more than 100 messages) even though I've checked a couple of times today. It looks like it's not recording the new time since last night |

I'm having a problem with new messages, too. It comes back with the exact same set of (old) posts that I saw at least twice before when I checked for new messages. What's going on? |

I was tweaking some settings that are supposed to decrease file locking errors, so that may have done something, but it shouldn't continue to happen after this week, when I will stop tweaking. |

Over and over and over the same messages appear. It took me 2 days to realize and finally, I went and read the new messages one by one. Not to swift on my part, hey? NCJ aka LL- Any and all posts are my personal opinions, not as an employee of the South Orange Public Library. |

My workaround has been to check new messages for the past n hours, where n is whatever it should be. That still works. THe problem appears to be entirely in the user management code. |

Still tweaking? Discus says that "(You last checked for new messages on Saturday, May 31, 2003 at 10:42 pm)" Not true. |

It's been working OK for me as far as I can tell. |

Sac: So when you run it it says at the top that "(You last checked for new messages on Friday, June 13, 2003 at 7:00 pm)" or whatever is the right date/time? Mine still says May 31.

Larry, Try this: make an update in your profile and resave it. (You can then update again to change it back.) In the meantime, I am making plans for a July/August change to a new server, which will boost response time, return the keyword search and eliminate the file locking error. |

I just did it and it says "You last checked for new messages on Friday, June 13, 2003 at 6:19 pm" As Dave can probably confirm, I'm usually pretty quick to complain when "New Messages" isn't working for me. |
