I tried this in the 'please help' section a couple of weeks ago and got no responses and thought that maybe I might get a better response here (even though it's not about the message board). I want to convert my old analog camcorder videos to DVD or DCD. I purchased a low-end transfer program (Neo-DVD) and now seem to need a video capture card (note that Firewire and other USB solutions seem to work only for transfering videos that are already digital). Does anyone know anything about video capture cards and have one to recommend? Any advice in general on this? I am just looking to copy the videos. I don't need to edit them or build fancy menus.

Lah,

You might be able to try something like this:
http://www.pinnaclesys.com/ProductPage_n.asp?Product_ID=1427&Langue_ID=7

Not the software - but hardware that comes with it is a video in solution that might work for you - it is USB.

I'm not sure if the USB is only for digital, I use a miniDV cam. I think I import ok from a VCR.

On my other computer I have a All-In-Wonder video card with TV tuner. There is a bunch of video cards that are available from ATI technologies, they might do the trick for you: http://www.ati.com

Feel free to email me directly if you have any questions about these: jamie@maplewoodonline.com

Thanks. I will check these products out. I have a USB port, so if there is some kind of converter that can connect to USB, it will be a lot easier for me than installing a new card.
