Got DSL line upgraded and am using business line as my data line. (Techs say you can have up to 5 devices on a line when using filters). Worked fine first week, then phone got funky. Stopped ringing first. Then I didn't have tone. Called Verizon and tone and ring came back. Today, no ring again. Can still access Verizon voicemail and dial out. Can fax out, too. (And I subscribe to the special tone for fax recognition.) All of this worked for over a week when first set up.

Anyone have or had similar setup and/or trouble?

Not the exact same issue but close. I was using three filters on three phones. Weird things were going on so I pulled the three filters off and replace it with one filter in the beginning, then sent the three lines from there. (I kind of have a phone Hub but not really). Fixed the problem for a while, then it broke again. I changed the filter and they all started working. It’s been working for a while now.

After that I found out that you don’t really need the filter. Your phones will work with out them but if you’re real quite you can here a click about every ½ second.

So if you want to take a shot and pull the filters off and see if everything works, if it does you may just need better filters.

Thanks. Tried all that. I think it's a line problem. I even unplugged everything and tried the phone by itself with and without filter. Nada.

Verizon coming out again in the morning.

Brett, I'm surprised you say you don't need filters. We ran out of filters and installed a new phone. That phone is unusable without a filter, and I've been meaning to get another one. Anyone got a spare? The noise from the unfiltered phone is unbearable, rendering the phone utterly useless.
