Just finished moving the message board to a new (dedicated) server. If any posts are missing, it's because they were missed in the final backup/restore. For the time being, you may bookmark the board at: /discus Eventually, it will be under the southorangevillage.com domain. Shifting to the new server will allow us to restore more of the orginal functionality, such as e-mail notification. |

Curmudgeon, I can't believe you attempted "all" searches! That's incredible. Do you have multiple SONET links? Search works again. |

Yes, the thread was begun by Jake_struck. I cannot find the thread now, and have e-mailed Jake_struck with an explanation/apology and encouraged him to re-post. Sorry for the temporary black hole. |

New error. I go to the new messages page to log in and tab out of the username field I get a javascript error: Line 76 Error: document.forms.0.method.1 is null or not an object I see a reference to document.forms[0].method[1] that looks like it's looking for a checkbox, but the checkbox has another name. |

Good catch, Larry. I'm on Netscape and wasn't seeing the error. New messages will go awry for another reason: the cookies that got set on browsers used the old IP address and not associated domain name, so only messages posted after transfer will appear. |

Um.... also editing preferences doesn't work, when you save changes, they disappear. I can't set the checkbox to save user and password, or anything else in that list of boxes. Oddly enough I *can* edit email notification.... |

Looks like the main profiles directory was missing. I just restored it, so try it out. Have no idea how the mail was working, though. |

Larry, The checkbox is named "method" and that's what it's calling, but I think the index is wrong, so I looked at old setup and that seems to be it (fixed this once before but forgot to log it). About to give it a go.... |

At least the functionality is still there. Just have the annoying error box to deal with. I'll revisit tonight. |

Dave, I had always received the Java script error when I checked for new messages (after my name and before my password). Now it doesn't happen. Thanks. |
