I just downloaded the freeware onto my PC running on Windows XP Home. I ran it and it detected a bunch of "questionables", mostly cookies. When I try to "fix selected problems" Spybot stops responding. This results even if I try to "fix" only the cookies, the least potentially malicious, imVHo. Any ideas? Thanks! |

There is 1 cookie (Maybe more) that is being used but some process. Remove the cookies 1 by 1 untill you identify the one being used. Then google search the cookie entry and you'll find out how to get rid of it. |

I use commercial software to catch spyware. It's called Spysweeper, from http://www.webroot.com. It works really well. A subscription services gives you regular updates. |

Update - I've conquered most, but not all of the issues...the (apparent)hang-up occurred as fixes were made. It just takes a LONG time to make the fixes. However, now, "DSO Exploit" comes up on every scan. I've read some message boards and followed the "update & rerun" advice, getting nowhere. Most of the issues posted were from late May, this year. Any ideas? |
