In the last couple of weeks, when I am typing in messages on the board, letters (and spaces, punctuation, etc.) will randomly not register. I don't think that it's the computer, or for that matter my aging fingers, because it doesn't happen in any other applications. Has anybody else been having this problem? What could be causing it??

It's Mem, pickins get real scarce this time of year, with the heat an all. She's forced to forage elsewhere. She's even been spotted as far as Milllburnonline.com around dusk in the Forum Section - and that's is no place for a Mem like ours to be wandering.

I'm typing directly into the window. I have to go back and seriously edit, add letters all over the place. (Like it just dropped the second 'l' in 'all'. Also the space between 'have' and 'to'.) It has been doing this for a couple of weeks.

Is this a new problem, or have you encountered it for some time? If the former, and if you have a PC, I would begin to speculate that you might have a virus on your system.

Dave, This has been happening for maybe a couple of weeks. But only here, not, for example, in Word documents.

But it doesn't look like
Th t is ve y stra ge!

It looks like
Tht isvey strage!

If it happened everywhere on the system, I'd suspect a flaky keyboard. As it is, I'm flummoxed.

It needn't happen everywhere on the system to be a virus. If you are using MSIE in particular on Windows, there are viruses that can affect form input (which really plays havoc when you try to buy something online with a credit card). Have you done a recent virus scan? I would think it is probably something local to your computer, or others would be talking about the same problem here.

I think it could be a bug with something else you are running. Sometimes things like virus scanners can cause trouble. What version of IE are you using? I heard the the really old IE versions may not have handled forms so well. Just some thoughts.
