Why is this not working?

The above line is \blink{Why is this not working?}

Blink is a netscape only HTML tag. And not a terribly standard one at that. Blink is a legacy tag, and is no longer used. I find blink to be a little obnoxious. I suggest if you want to stand out, learn some basic HTML color schemes.

Enigmabomb is right. If you use Netscape you'll see the blinking, but not in MSIE, which doesn't allow it.

Well that ends that.

I'm a MSIE kinda guy, and I don't see no stinking blinking.

It was fun to try.

And it only works in Netscape 4.x, not 6.x. All kinds of 4.x features were removed in 6.x, basically things that deserved to die, like blink.

Fortunately, this isn't much of an issue, since there are only about 50 people left in the world using Netscape browsers.

I use netscape occasionally. MSIE cut their unix browser, so now my main browser is opera and konqueror. I wish I could program a killer browser. Mozilla is a piece. Anything that takes longer to compile than X isn't worth it.

Just a neat link I found on one of my favorite sites this morning - We could start OUR OWN DSL service. I think if enough people signed up this could be a worth while endeavor. If nothing else it is a fascinating read. http://www.pbs.org/cringely/pulpit/pulpit20010823.html

on a consumer site I run, in july just a little over 12% of the hits (out of about 59,000 user sessions) were from netscape browsers. Sigh. Of course, it wasn't all because of the blink tag, I think antitrust violations had a little to do with it!

Funny (or not, depending on how easily amused you are) of those people 96% of them are using version 4. They must be very patient people.

For most browsing I use Netscape on a Mac, which makes me one of 5 people on the net in that category. Yes, v.4.76 (Netscape 6 is an absolute drag on a Mac).
