why would a webmaster choose to redirect message board participants to another website? A message board has blocked 3 computers at a the office and is redirecting them to CNN.com. Is this unethical? Or just plain odd? Anyone have experience with such a thing. I've looked up how this is done so I know that it is possible. |

Do you know what side the redirecting is happening on? I redirect some of the more popular pages at my office so that people aren’t on them all day. Sure check the news or a menu out online but don’t hang out on Fark.com all day. I also redirect people who come onto a website too often. You should probably only need to look at my website 2-3 times in a day, so I’ll kick you off and let someone else use the bandwidth. Third reason is money. People pay you when someone visits their site from yours. So for a quick buck, redirect everyone for a day here and there.
