anyone know off hand why my email attachment could be getting replaced with winmail.dat? The last two days I have tried to send an email with 2 .jpg attachments. both times, the recipients of the email claimed they could nto see the pictures and the only attachment was winmail.dat. Is this something in: - outlook - norton anti-virus - xp service pack2 My guess is, the .jpg extension (because it is vulnerable) is being blocked somewhere. None of the recipients are behind corporate filrewalls, nor am I. Anyone have any ideas?

outlook, you aren't sending your email as plain text are you? Try sending it in plain text with the attachment and see if this clears things up. 1. On the Tools menu, click Options and then Mail Format. 2. In Send in this message format, click to select Plain Text. If you would like to send RTF format to certain recipients and send others Plain Text, you have two options: 3• On the Format menu of the mail message, select Plain Text. 4• Select Plain Text on the General page of recipient's Contact form.
