My sister, accidentally on purpose, deleted all my mom's data from Word Perfect. I've been telling my Mom for the past year she should save her stuff to a disk! -but nooooooo she wouldn't listen! My sister, not realizing my Mom referred to some of what she had written deleted it because 'there was too much stuff for her to weed through to find her own.! You'd she would have created a folder and moved my mom's stuff to it; or asked before deleting it.

Is there any way to recover what was deleted? I have no ideas, except maybe System Restore. Would that work? Or does it only set programs back to a certain point? I'm hoping it also recovers data. thanks!

System Restore is designed to not remove files created since the last restore point; I don't know if if would un-delete deleted files.

Silly question: did she empty the Recycle Bin after she sent the files there?

System Restore won't help. Have you looked in the Recycle Bin? If the files were deleted, they would still be there

Thank you Albatross and Sully! I found all my mom's things in the recycle bin! I don't know why I didn't think of that!!! Maybe it was too early in the morning. lol It's now all safely backed up on disk.
