I am returning to the work force after a ten year absence and I am feeling a bit "Out of the Loop". I need to create a template (for my boss - my husband) that will help us keep track of achitectural project information. In an ideal world - I would love to list many names, addresses, dates, poject numbers and even up to 8 digital images on a single page. It would also be great if I could search through the info. and if it could connect back to a big database with more names, addresses, phone numbers etc. I am familiar with ACT!, Excel, and all the other typical software. Would Microsoft Access do the trick? There is an Apple computer at the office - is there and Apple application that would do this more easily? Thanks for any suggestions! Kristin |

Check out Basecamp http://www.basecamphq.com/ It's web-based so you can use it on all computers. |

Thanks to both of you. The Filemaker looks very good to me.........I will probably download a trial version to see if I can wrestle it into the functionality that I want! Basecamp looks good too - but for now it's just little 'ol me working with the info. - no need to have another soul log on to it. |

Another program to consider is an app called Clarity, it used to be known as "Six Degrees" when it was owned by Creo, but it was bought by these people, http://www.ralstontech.com/ , and is now called "Clarity". the original name, "Six Degrees" was taken from the whole six degrees of seperation deal. Basically it is used to link your data together, from emails to files to subject matter, etc. I saw it demoed at MacWorld when it first came out and thought it looked pretty cool. there is a free trial here, http://www.ralstontech.com/navigation/download_main.html if you have Mac OS X, or Win200O/XP. |
