I haven't had a problem using the happy face pics, but using bold, underline or italics and color have me stumped.
Do you insert it before the sentence you want to change or after, highlight the section or not?
Also, what's the easy way to view your own last posts?

I can answer your first question. Let's say you want to write the word italic in italics. You would do the following:

Click on the slanted "I" in the second box from the left directly above the dialog box.

Type the word italic where you want it to appear.

Click on the slanted I again.

The word should look like this italic

If you want to write a word or group of words in bold, you would click the B in the box closest to the left; to underline the text click the U and follow the same procedure.

To write the word color in red (or any other color for that matter):

Open the drop down menu labeled color
Click on the color you want to use (in this case red).
Type in the word color.
Scroll up to the white box and click to turn off the red type.

It should look like this: color

Font and size work in the same way as color.
