This will be my first experience with wireless hardware, and was checking out the Logitech 700 combo unit.

We are running Win 2000 Pro.

Can anyone offer some information on how this works, and advice on how to set it up? Can the receiver get signals if the keyboard is in a center desk drawer? Any tidbits that might enlighten me with this new fangled device is appreeciated.

Happy New Year all!

This should just plug in and play, since you are using win2k.

Most of these things use RF (radio) rather than infrared, so a desk drawer should be OK. But the transmitter puts out a very weak signal, so solid objects do attenuate the signal. That is to say that it might not work.

My guess is that a good retailer would let you return it if you don't like the way it works. And you probably will like it.
