I thought that the number of banner ads "served" since 11/21 seemed high. Now I notice that the number does not go up one at a time, but jumps by 15 or 16 every time a new ad appears. What gives? |

It's an online poll. As Dave will tell you, they are flawed. :-) |

Maybe it's because Dave includes the hanging and the swinging chads ... By the way, are you on work time as you watch the banner ads changing? |

Kathy, if you were the only one using MOL your premise would make sense. :-) ps. We only count hanging chads if they're dimpled, too. |

We use a couple banner ad scripts - I changed the the sentence to read banner ads served on MOL. It counts banner ads that are served throughout the site as well as the one that is rotating above. I recently reset the counter, over the past three months we served over one million banner ads. And that count and the count above is not flawed . The above banner rotates once every 90 seconds, so 15-20 more impressions is probably about right. If you hit fresh quick enough, it'll only go up by one. Jamie |

Okay, so you're not counting ads, but ad-viewings. I get it. Nohero, I am never on work time. I am a lady of leisure. |

That's how most ads are counted, I think. (presupposing people are not in the kitchen making dinner while the ads are rotating, of course) |
