Hi. I have an external Medea 320GB hard drive connected to a Shuttle XPC. For some reason, I can never remove the drive from the computer. When I try to do this, I get the following response: "The device "Generic Volume" cannot be stopped right now. Try stopping the device again later" I try again later and I get the same response. When I went on vacation last week I shut down my entire system. I was hoping this would fix the problem, you know... reset everything. However, this problem still happens. Advice?? I don't want to damage the drive, the CPU, or its content. |

Shut down the computer completely and then disconnect the drive while it's turned off?

Is this device is hooked up as a USB? Try stopping the device first using the USB icon that appears at the bottom in the tray. Do you like the Shuttle? I built mine (using it right now) a couple of years ago and it sure is sweet. Tiny outside but a monster inside. |

I followed argon's advice and it worked. Thanks! Yeah.. the shuttle is great. I use it mostly for a digital sampler program called Gigastudio. |
