Having been on other messag boards (like who hasn't?), I've noticed a limitation that may or may not have been brought up: You can't quote another poster. With so many posts in threads, it would be nice to quote another poster rather than trying to reference the quote if it was three or four from yours by writing "Exactly, Jim." Many times I've posted and wanted to comment on what someone else had posted.

There is a way to quote someone's comment, but it's not intuitive. Follow the "help/Instructions" link at bottom of page for details. An improvement in it may be a feature in the next release of the software, which should come out some time this year. |

Dave: Any hope of the next release of the software including a spell check? |

What I would like is a fix for the increasingly common problem where I go to "New Messages" (to check for any new messages since the last time I checked) and if it has been as little as a half day or so, I just get a blank screen, although the check is recorded in the cookie. I suspect this may be memory-related, but I can't tell if it is server memory or my PC memory (the latter of which is definitely having problems lately.) However, I think others have also reported this problem. I definitely think this feature should work if you check once a day and I would really like it to work for longer periods (even if it might come up with a warning box that says something like ... "this will take awhile, do you wish to wait?" (OK/Cancel) or something to that effect.) |

Joan, The current version has a spell checker. Not quite sure why it's not turned on... Maybe the word list isn't fitting for our conversations. |

Dave: (Based on what Woodstock said) Why isn't the spell checker turned on? |

Derek, I am glad quoting is difficult. I prefer not to have it. Well, not much. In email, people quote tons of stuff and respond only to a small portion of it. What a waste! There are five little icons above a poster's name. Right click on the right-most one, and the url of his message goes into your buffer. Then you can paste that as a link to what he said. Here is a link to Dave's response, as an example. |
