When I attempt to play music using music match software I get a pop-up that says waveout format not supported. When I try and play music in I-tunes nothing happens. When I try and play WFMU through realplayer nothing happens. My operating system is Windows XP. please help me. These were all working a few days ago.

Does Windows Media Player work?

What file types are you trying to play? (mp3, wav)

Do other sounds work, like program sounds?

WMP usually does not work. I have been using Real Player to play media. I am trying to play mp3 files for the most part. The only sound I hear is a doink(?) when the error pop-up windows take place. I went in to the Dell help center for sounds amd music but did not hear anything when I tried to test program sounds. Even trying to play a CD does not work.

Have you checked the applicable driver(s) to make sure they are current and not corrupted in some manner?

Have you deleted anything recently, or have you installed or changed anything?
