I've seen a couple of webboards recently that keep a count (humorously) of what they call threadkill (similar to buzzkill). That is, being the last (or second to last) poster in a thread. Just one more meaningless statistic that we can use to torment each other  |

The idea is that the person who posts the last in a thread is posting something so boring as to not elicit a response.

To your point: Here many regular posters would prefer to think that they had made the perfect post to the thread: definitive solution to the problem posted in Please Help, ultimate place to dine in Diniing, perfect solution to the complaints in Soapbox, etc.
Also, many posters of our posters just like to see their name in print as often as possible. |
