I've lived in maplewood for over 2 years, and i've privatelined about a dozen or so people for different reasons. And no one ever responds. I want to say someone did once, but i can't remember exactly. Even the people who post and say "need help, please privateline me if you can be of assistance" never reply when i do.
I click on the person's username, then click on "click here to send a private message to this person." That's all there is to it, right? Are my messages or replies maybe getting caught in a spam filter? (We never had a spam filter on our end until last year, so i at least know that this couldn't have always been to blame.)
Or am i just really unpopular? |

Do you have the correct email address in your profile so that people can send messages back to you?
If it is correct, I'm betting you'll be getting lots of messages now as a result of your post. |

When I send a privateline, I write my email address in, just in case it makes replying easier. I prefer to get emails than privatelines anyway. |

Let me know here if you received the message. I also requested in the PL that reply to me so we could determine whether there is a problem at your end with sending PL messages.

I think it's more likely that there never really was a problem, since this has been an issue for over a year. More likely, people don't notice the PLs when they come in, or they don't feel like replying. (Or i really *am* unpopular!)
Do most other people always get replies when they PL people? |

I seem to only reply to PL's sent to me. Then nobody replies to my reply....but that's OK I guess. |

I generally get replies to my private lines. The major exception was a series of private lines I sent out last year inviting various organizations to march in the Memorial Day Parade. Hopefully, I'll get a better response this year.

I had the same problem a few times I've responded to the robot by mistake! The last time was when someone on the bad asked if I'd watch their kitties while they were away. I responded 'sure' right away.
A week went by and I didn't hear back. I sent another email, letting her know I was availble if she still needed me, along with some pics I had mentioned I'd send.
Found out my first email had never gotten there. Checked my spam folder and there it was -the response from the robot! |
