Does anyone have any suggestions of how to go about selling a 1 gig SD card, besides eBay and besides MOL classifieds? I tried MOL, and this weirdo who was in another country was trying to get me to send it to him before I got payment (because I'm that dumb, right). I tried once on eBay and failed. It's brand new and I don't use it, and could sure use the money, any other places online or otherwise I should try?? Thanks in advance. |

I would have expected ebay to work. What failed? |

Probably the fact that there are SO MANY on ebay. I had a reserve up of $100, also. I paid $120 for it. Grr |

I think if you shop around, you can buy one from a retailer for less than $100. I suggest you drop your price to sell it and pay the rest for your lesson. I know, it's frustrating. I've done it, too. I bought something on ebay for $46 a year ago. I found I don't need it. I sold it this week without a reserve. I got $3.85 for it! [Edited for greater accuracy] |

Oh, and hurry up. The values of these things drop quickly, so by waiting for a better price, you lose more money. Time your auction to end on a Saturday evening (eastern time), so people are in front of their computers. |

Look around, they sell for less then $70 these days. If you want to sell it on e-bay you will need a more competitive price. |

Nah, I definitely can't go that low, that would mean I wasted $70. POI, when I had listed it on eBay, the lowest rate was $100. Anybody know any other places? |

Yes, on http://www.froogle.com you can see it for $70 or so. Of course, the lowest prices are sometimes by shady dealers. But I'd say $70 or $75 is about the market value. I even bought one of these 1GB SD cards in December from J&R, a reputable dealer. After rebate, my cost was $50. So I promise you that if you wait for $100, you'll end up throwing away $120 rather than $50 or $70, because the value is going down quickly. You better shoot yourself in the foot now, because if you don't, someone else will do it and make a bigger hole. |

Right, but I'm not going to sell it for $50. I don't know, maybe I'll try ebay again |

Put it back on ebay, and take the reserve off. Why would a buyer bid on an item with a reserve when there are hundreds of the same item without one? You can try the "buy it now" option... but you are not going to get $100 for it. You have to expect around $70 right now. |

Yeah, I did a BIN. I'm pretty experienced w/ eBay, I know how it works. Someone suggested I do a consignment shop, but I only have a dial up connection, which makes it take longer. Thanks for your advice. I'm about to buy a digital camera, so maybe I'll see if I can't buy one with an SD card, then I'll just keep it. I have a feeling the one I want might be either XD or flash, though. If not, maybe I'll try eBay again. P.S. - again, it was put up when the sale price was $100. I know it's around 70/80 now... |

Be VERY careful buying a digital camera on Ebay. Especially from this guy in Monsey. Make sure you read the fine print... |

JTA - I'm not buying it on eBay - why, what happened to you? Did you report it and get your money back, etc? |

Flug- First he didn't tell me it was a refurbished camera; someone else emailed me to warn me. Then, the camera never arrived. He gave me this buu story about how it was sent insured through UPS. Funny, though he sent me a tracking number, UPS had no record of picking the camera up. At first he refused to return my money. I reported it to Ebay, my credit card company, and the police in Monsey. Unfortunately, I had already given him positive feedback because he sent the tracking info so quick. I thought for sure the camera would arrive within a few days. I've learned NEVER give feedback until I have the product and am satisfied with what I was sent. I ended up getting a better camera for free through American Express with my Amex points. |

I hate to break it to ya, but the price is dropping so quickly on cards these days. I saw one on eCost last week for $10 - yes, a 1GB SD card. I would just keep it if I were you. |

Also, it's amazing how fast 1GB is becoming too little space. |

Its amazing how we've all taken it upon ourselves as a sacred duty to bury this poor guy. ;) We've all bought electronics and then watched the prices plummet - no big deal!
