My Photoshop CS2 program was working fine last week. But now, everytime I click a photo to edit and work on it comes up in the "Untitled Paint" window, and I cannot use any of the CS2's tools. I found the "paint" program listed in my computer accessories menu, but cannot find it in the Add/Remove Programs section of the of the control panel. I suspect it is attached to another Microsoft program like Notebook, but that isn't listed either. Can't find it anywhere to disable it. If I right click on it to bring up "properties" nothing happens. I have got to get Photoshop back, you are only allowed 2 installs with this CS2 and I have used them both on our two computers. I am a desperate woman. Any ideas how to correct this mess? |

1. Open Windows Explorer (Start menu:Accessories) 2. Select the TOOLS drop down, and pick Folder Options. 3. Click on the File Types tab. 4. You need to change the default program for each file type that you care about. So, scroll down to where you find GIF, JPG and/or JPEG, click on the entry in the main window, then click on Change down where it says "Opens With." Pick PhotoShop from the window that pops up. This will establish PhotoShop as the default program for the file types you specify. |

That also works great when Internet Explorer tries to make itself the default browser over Netscape. Or when windows media player tries to highjack winamps files. |
