I have a Canon ip4000 inkjet. I need new ink. So I start looking on the net and am totally confused as to whether I should buy "genuine" canon cartridges, "compatible" cartridges, or just ink refills. Thoughts? |

If your printer is under warranty, buy genuine Canon cartridges or you'll void the warranty. Personally I'd avoid ink refills and "compatible" cartridges in general due to counterfeiting, etc. but that's just my preference. Other people may have other opinions. |

I was leaning toward just getting the canon cartridges. Thanks for validating my opinion!

I have bought the Staples compatible ink cartridges for my Epson C86 printer and have not had any problems. I save a few bucks. From Data Bazaar (an online company) I once bought some ink that was supposedly a real Lexmark cartridge for my then Lexmark printer but it was leaking when it arrived. Returned it and got my money back. |
