Dave/Jamie, A problem that occurred last year seems to have cropped up again - in the past few weeks I have stopped receiving mail notifications and Privatelines from MOL. Here is a link to the original thread. http://www.southorangevillage.com/cgi-bin/show.cgi?tpc=3137&post=235732#POST2357 32 Verizon is still my ISP and perhaps they made some other change??? |

I'm not sure - the issue we had with Verizon in the past was fixed, do you know when the latest problem started to happen? Also, I see you're posting - vze25ckb@verizon.net - this isn't the verizon accout you're using in your profile. |

Jamie, I looked in my "deleted" folder and it looks like the last messages I got were around July 22. As for the email address, I have multiple addresses that forward to my main address. I have no trouble sending or receiving email to anyone else. Thanks. |

Are other Verizon customers getting mail notifications and Privatelines from the message board? Just checking on this first. |

Yes, I apologize. I've also set up an e-mail address for you as a temporary work-around until we figure out what is wrong with Verizon (Wendy, please email me for similar fix, if you like). Your new e-mail address is mhd@southorangevillage.com. I'm forwarding you a password from my speakeasy account. |

Still no PLs or MOL mailers for me. And I just found out that EZ Pass NY's emails to me for the past month or two have bounced back to them. I called Verizon and I was told I have to provide the domain names. Still working on EZ Pass; can you give me yours? |

Jamie I hadn't read this threads since I posted the last note. I didn't realize there was a problem with MOL email. If I access the internet througnh Verizon, but use a Yahoo address for MOL, would I have problems? I know there have been times email I sent never got there. Thanks! |

should be fine if you're using Yahoo. This has me stumped at the moment, unless you we can get through to Verizon somehow and figure out the reason. Maybe they blocked email from robot@maplewoodonline.com or that the return path is different. I'm not sure, here's the header info. X-Persona: <maplewood> Return-Path: <anonymous@mail.drassociates.com> TO: webmaster@maplewoodonline.com FROM: "SO-M Messageboard" <robot@maplewoodonline.com> SUBJECT: Mail Notifications and Privatelines REPLY-TO: robot@maplewoodonline.com X-Mailer: Discus 4.00.6 Pro </discus> Content-type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii MIME-Version: 1.0 |

What solved the problem when this happened last year? Were you able to speak to someone at Verizon? |

I sort of think it was a combination of Jamie speaking to people there and those of us who had problems speaking to people there. I just got off the phone earlier with E-Z Pass NY and they'll be speaking with Verizon since they didn't want to give me their domain name or something like that. I'll send the robot@ whatever to verizon and see if that works on this end for MOL. |

I have changed my MOL address to a Gmail account which will forward to my verizon account. That seems to work for now. |

Verizon has the most troublesome commercial email system I have ever seen. Their tech support, or lack thereof, decreases their value further. Their home connectivity, i.e. DSL, is fine, however. If you have Verizon DSL and are happy with it, I recommend moving your email somewhere else.
