Well, my digital elph is broken. T repair it, I'd have to ship it off and expect to pay between $150 and $300. From Canon, I was offered this deal. ...Canon's PowerShot Upgrade program. The PowerShot Upgrade program allows you to replace your current camera with a Canon refurbished PowerShot S500. The refurbished unit offered through this program carries a six month warranty. The cost for this program is $199.00, plus $10 shipping for Second Business Day delivery.
I am thinking, for 400 I could buy a brand new one, but there's no guarantee it would last much past it's one year warranty, in which case I'd be better off with a refurbished one for half the price.
