I need to speak with a person or persons who use the Palm Treo 650 device with Verizon service and using a Macintosh computer.

I'm on the verge of buying one and I'm doing my best to anticipate problems and issues.

I'm happy to call, meet and buy a beer for, receive a call from, etc.. anyone who fits the profile...

Many thanks.

May all your wirelessly received news be good news...!

David

Folks, I am entirely sure that someone here fits the above description and...reads this board!

Please, if you do, let me know as this is a somewhat fateful decision for me...sounds foolish, I know, but, heck, I sound foolish with alarming frequency...!

Yours in not-so-blissful Treo/Verizon/Mac ignorance,

David

PS Be well, all. (Thought I'd forget, huh?)

It may not be such a likely combination.

Have you considered other email/web/phone devices? A technogeek mailing list I'm on had a discussion on these things, and there were other devices that got better reviews than the Treo. There were devices I had never heard of.

My preference is to look dorky and hang two devices on my belt. Saves lots of money. I get the phone that my provider offers for free or $25. And if my PDA battery runs down, I can still make calls.

I'm using a Treo 600 with my new powerbook. I was initially syncing it with my pc. I had to do some tweaking with isync and hotsync, but it works just great.

Hope this helps.

Well, I have had the Treo 650 for almost a year, use Macintosh technology (G4 and G5) running on system 10.x and have experience with both the Sprint and Verizon service plans. I have not set it up to use iSync (prefer the Palm interface still), but if I go to the .mac setup I may change my mind. The Treo works well, usually pretty fast and reasonably customizable. Nice speaker-phone feature, too.
