Does anyone know where I can get one serviced/cleaned?

I have a Panasonic KX-P7105 laser printer that is printing grey vertical lines on every page. I've reviewed the manual and cleaned it as instructed but its still printing these lines.

The printer is only about two years old and has worked flawlessly until recently. I'd really like to avoid having to purchase a new one already.

Thanks,

There is a printer service guy here in South Orange. Here's the info:

MicroLand Industries
16 Harrison Ct
South Orange, NJ 07079
Phone: (973) 762-9155

The guy who owns the business is really nice and does good work. He works out of his home, so don't be alarmed.

I had a problem like this once. It was caused by a leaky toner cartridge. I would suggest removing the toner cartridge CAREFULLY and checking for leaks. If the cartridge is leaking, it needs to be replaced.

While you have the cartridge removed and the printer open, try cleaning the inside of the of the printer, but ONLY in areas you can easily reach. Compresse air and a soft brush should do the trick.

Replace the cartridge with a new one. Run a few copies to get rid of any residual toner and see if the lines start to disappear.

Yes, monster thanks for the links. It turned out to be a faulty toner cartridge. I tried every suggestion I found on that board and then I finally asked my wife if we ever changed the cartridge. She claimed yes, but I wasn't sure. Between my son's printer the copier and this printer I can't keep track.

Anyway, it was the toner. Prints like a champ now.

Follow up question: How do you dispose of the toner cartridge? I assume it shouldn't go into the regular garbage, is that correct?

There are companies who recycle them. I don't know how you find them. Panasonic might help you finding one. They may even give you a small credit for the cartridge.

Costco will do it for free, click the link below and follow the steps to print a pre-paid, pre-addressed shipping label from Costco.

You can even ship multiple toner carts at a time.

Check with the school district. Some school systems use the spent cartridges (toner and ink jet ink) as a fund raiser. I don't know how it works, but they do it...
